QUESTIONS WE GET
Before you ask, here's what we tell every site visit
Straight answers to the questions municipalities, regulators and neighbors actually ask.
No. Mass-burn incineration combusts waste directly in open excess air. Our systems gasify or pyrolyze it — a controlled, low- or no-oxygen thermal process that breaks waste down into syngas, biochar and recoverable byproducts rather than simply burning it. That distinction is also what makes the process controllable enough to patent.
Syngas is combusted for combined heat and power under controlled, monitored conditions, with emissions and product monitoring built into standard operating discipline — alongside scale-house data, feedstock characterization, and chain-of-custody tracking. Permitting and regulatory compliance (air, water, solid waste) are engineered into every project from day one, not addressed after the fact.
We sit above landfilling and below recycling, consistent with the standard waste-management hierarchy: recycling and material recovery come first, energy recovery comes next, and landfilling is the last resort. Our systems recover metals and glass for resale alongside power, biochar and fuel — we're built to complement a recycling program, not compete with it.
Our landfill work is engineered the other direction — composite liner systems, leachate and gas-collection networks, and Construction Quality Assurance management designed specifically to keep leachate out of waterways and groundwater. Remediation projects are scoped to eliminate existing contamination pathways, not create new ones.
Yes — that's the point of a modular, configurable platform. We've built and demonstrated everything from a single trailer-mounted mobile unit to a 440 TPD commercial facility, with front-end sorting, feedstock mouth size and downstream configuration all tailored to the customer's existing infrastructure and waste stream.
Proven. A 440 TPD reference plant is running today (see our Inez, KY case study), a mobile unit has logged 14 straight days of continuous 24-hour operation, and we've demonstrated 20–22% char yield from wood chips in repeated production runs.
